CAMRA and St. Philip's

CAMRA had a long-standing friendship with St. Philip's Anglican Church in O'Connor, A.C.T.

This friendship with St. Philip's was an opportunity to sing sacred music in a "real life" worship setting.

However, CAMRA was not a religious organisation. Its performers and members readfiled people of many faiths and none.

Most of its rehearsals and performances were held in the church, which has fine acoustics, and St. Philip's courtyard was a great place for drinks during interval!

The members of St Philip's deserve a blessing from the Canberra community for making their church available for performances … which keeps a wide, stimulating variety of music alive and thriving outside the more regimented performance venues.
