CAMRA's story

The Canberra Academy of Music and Related Arts was a community organisation dedicated to performance and training in music and theatre for the Canberra community. It was active from 1997 to 2014, with performances each year.

CAMRA was managed as an incorporated association, with a committee elected by its members.

Patron

CAMRA was honoured to have distinguished counter-tenor Mr Tobias Cole as its Patron.

Mary Bush, Meg Colwell, Lorna Gamble, Denise Manley, Leighton Mann and Patricia Whitbread.

Musical and Artistic Directors

CAMRA's Artistic Directors were Colin Forbes and Patricia Whitbread. Pat and Colin were the leading inspiration for CAMRA's work, choosing and directing its programs—and often performing, too!
